MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Rebounders held its year-end celebration for 2006-07 earlier this week and appointed Harold Byrd as the group's president for the 2007-08 year.

Byrd, co-founder and president of the Bank of Bartlett, graduated from the University of Memphis with both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Business. The Bank of Bartlett is one of the 20 largest banks in Tennessee. He also served three terms in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1976-82.

Byrd's extensive civic involvement includes serving on the Boards of Directors of the University of Memphis, Lane College and Rise Foundation, as well as Past President of the University of Memphis Alumni Association and Tiger Scholarship Fund.

Among honors that Byrd has received are Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Memphis and Partners in Education Award from the Shelby County School System.
